Lamp beat me to it...have been tossing the idea of getting a slim phatty around and now this shows up... :lol:

havent used the mini taurus, obviously, so I cant totally say, but the phatty is a much more robust synth even for being fairly simple. Whereas the Taurus is a very specilized mostly for Bass and very simple synth. But it does drop nasty bass. They do sound different and the phatty has more modulation and control potential. By the pics I see I wonder if it has memory. Maybe you use usb or sysex for that? Doesnt bother me anyway since Im used to not having memory on many synths. Either way with moog you cant go wrong.

I would prefer my SP for the memory and extra controls. but I wont lie almost any new Moog gear can get me recalculating my budget for the next couple months. :lol: :lol:

I was thinking of adding a moogerfooger low pass to the SP and calling it one.

this to me looks like one of the most exciting products of this year so far... simply because it is kept very simple and which IMO is key for live use.

I like where dude in the video says "moog point".

You should be able to control the minitaur via USB/midi controller as well as standard midi controller right?

dont get me wrong SP is mad phat (1990's speak) and versatile... but it sounds like the minitaur is a hell of a beast on the lowlows... i trust my ears and I can hear a low that the SP doesnt quit hit. and thats ok because it has lots of character and growl and the lows are damn good but the minitaur got more range on the lows.

I wonder if someone like Digital Village will offer a deal of Slim Phatty AND Minitaur for like £1000 or something.

It's amazing that they're releasing these smaller modules. Affordable Moog sounds = unbeatable.
