thanx i love that mpc. i just got her a couple of days ago. i have been working
software based just with logic audio and ableton live. but nothing beats the feel of real hardware, and the sound of the xl is so warm and punchy..
no matter what music you do the mpc is a keeper...

quite badly actually. won't stop popping and crackling no matter how good i clean it. most likely it's just mine. but i love the smoothness of it, i have it set on the lowest tension, and i love the cut in adjustment. even though it's a little pain in the ass getting everything how you want.
i'll be updating to an Ecler Hak 360 around christmas times i hope.

Yeah, I have a Rane TTM56 now, but I'm thinking of getting another mixer and deck for production purposes, and I like to be able to scratch. I'm thinking of either a Allen and Heath Xone:02, Stanton SA-5, or Vestax PMC-07, and the one I'd choose would be modded with a PxF. OR, I'm thinking of the Ecler Hak 360, but those are pretty hard to find in the United States, especially for under $600...

yeah, see what you mean. the reason i'm picking the hak over the ttm56 is just because of the fader. when i tried the 56, the fader was stiff and wierd. while the eternalfader blew me away when i tried it, i love how loose it is and the cut in adjustment's just fresh-o-rama. i'm wondering how the linefaders will be over time, they're not magnetic unlike the crossfader, but they're pretty inexpensive for faders to be. 2 x ecler profaders = $80 = 1 vestax pcv fader. and the profaders are even tested for 2000000 million more operations than the vestax faders are. so i think it's, for me, a sure shot.

personally i don't think you should even bother with an 07, unless you can get it cheaper than the other two. but i have to admit that i feel that vestax has the best curves.
the sa5 is an easy buy. good mixer, good sound, good faders. don't know much bout the curves though, but the cut in should be better than okay according to it's users.
the xone:02 should probably be the one to go with, if you change the regular alpha crossfader to something WAY better. but the sound of the xone:02 is SWEET! so for production / scratching i would reccomend an xone:02 w/ a pro-x-fade. i really think it's just mine that's bugging because i think it has a scratch on one of the tracks, i thought i saw one yesterday.

Really? You thought the Rane TTM56 fader was weird? I put FaderLube on mine, and it's smoooooooth as hell. Maybe the one you tried out didn't have any FaderLube on it? Mine used to be kind of stiff, but after luving it up, that thing was amazing. Yeah, I was planning on popping a PxF in one of the mixers I mentioned. I think I'm going with the Xone:02 because I hear the sound quality on those things are amazing.

to be honest i am not that happy with it. the phone in on the right channel is broken so i can only hook up one record player :(

i also think that it has strange eqs. the turn down the bass eq it also cuts the mids off too. i have never had that happen on a quality mixer like a redeox mx 180 for example.

i´m kind of through with getting low budget gear...i´ll rather save up some $$ and get something decent :)
