I checked into that wk-3500 and I've looked into that series many times, and I never knew you could record on that ish and it even has a mixer.......but I've seen a wk-3200in one of my local pawnshops....it's been there awhile, and you can always talk those suckers down in pawn shops....I might look into that.....oh yeah can you tweak sounds on that.....and can it sample? At least the DJX has 6 seconds sampling time, which means I would have to speed samples up....but I'm cool with that..........by the way, I would'nt be buying anything new....the DJX got discontinued 6 years ago.....lol.

Keep your Akai S-20 and get rid of the DR-880 and cop either the DJX or casio joint. Now u got some keys, sounds, and a way to sample. What u think?

^^I don't know about that. The 880 sounds are off the hook as far as real drum kits ,world drum kits and percussion sounds, you would be hard pressed to find something that would compete with the Dr.880 in the same price range. I mean I feel you Niki, yeah cop a keyboard but letting go of your Dr. 880 is straight madness IMO. :D

To my knowledge u cant sample on the Casio WK-3500.

Upright-Letting go of the DR-880 wouldnt be an bad idea b/c of the fact he could sample all the kits or even rebuild those same kits or better yet make even better ones. But its all up to him to decide and choose whats best for him.

Once again Good Luck!!

I see what u guys are saying.....but on the other hand I wouldn't want to resample over 500 drum and percussion sounds if I didn't have to. The 880 also has effects, compression and EQing capabilities that you would have to spend even more money on to be able to apply to those resampled kits...I don't know I think it's worth it to keep the 880 and build kits anyway so you have the 880 as a whole unit and the kits you build. The best of both worlds!!1

Personally I really have a problem with selling gear, especially if you like the gear just to get something else. I would rather wait until funds permit new purchases. Because you never know you may end up wanting your old gear again moreso than the new gear.
