Question, what happens when something starts to gray a lil around the edges? Do you ditch it for something new or do you stay loyal & faithful to it until its death?

It seems to me that when a new braud makes her presence, some of us are quick to throw the old to the backburner and get with the new.

But that's human nature and it's a natural thing for some of us to do. But on the flip side of the coin, that new girl more than likely will come with her own baggage & own set of issues.

Be mindful before you start bragging on her. She just might not be the woman you thought she would be. But then again, she could be the bomb.

Life is so full of risk, but what the h*ll, you only live once. :wink:

If the Kronos has the sampling capabilities of the M3, it will meet my #1 need. If the M3 didn't have such a horrible interface (my opinion), I would have bought that instead of my Fantom. Kronos' GUI rivals Roland..and an argument can be made that it surpasses uit since the LCD ia touch screen like previous Korg Models.

The price of the 61 key is said to be $3000. However, in one of the You Tube Videos, the Korg Rep said that the prices have not been released yet and that it is much lower that what is being written throughout the internet. If the price tag is in the range of the Motif XF and Fantom G ($2000-$2500)...it would signal the end of those workstations..for someone like me.

wow the yamaha motif xf owners feel they've been robbed.with those 2 out,roland has the advantage.but these boards are not priced for the average working mate-all the new workstations are starting at $2400-$3500 thats crazy in this economy.

Well, it is nothing out of the ordinary. I use pretty much the same techniques you here numerous forum members talk about. Easily chop samples, create programs, and sequence...then add some additional instruments (piano, bass, strings, etc) to complete a song. I am a hardware guy for sure. The only thing I want to do with software is multi-track or host VST sample players that I will trigger with my MPC.

While I do have a Fantom G, it is more like an overpriced keyboard controller with a pretty screen. I can edit samples and sequence with my MPC 1000 JJ OS or MPC 5000 much easier than the Fantom G. I am hoping that the Kronos is the keyboard I am sought so long for. I never considered the Korg M3 because it is so ugly (IMHO). However, it does pretty much everything I need a workstation to do. It appears Kronos will do what the Oasys and M3 does...

looks cool, but does nothing I need it to do. would I take one for free? sure, but when I already have tools that I know how to use and that do what I tell them to... something like this would collect dust.
