I don't need the keyboard part of it but damn, YOU beat me to it this time. Researching these three units in the past few weeks has MADE me get deeper into my triton extreme capabilities and I MUST confess that I'm even more impressed with my old 61key (exact pic below, yes it's a real vacuum tube + a pretty blue light, lmao.) triton extreme now that I've learned some new synth stuff :shock: :shock:

I have to admit, I've never dug into the valve tube much but in the past few weeks lusting after the min, brute, slim phat, I wanted to explore my own capabilities within my own gear, just like we all do, once in a while we say **** it, lets get even deeper (non-sexual -ok maybe a lil).

I am still wanting a MOOG branded gear to live in my studio but I don't NEED it (trying to convince myself to save money, leemee lone).

damn Lamp... i dint know the Triton extreme got down like that with the tube warmth and all. thats nice. you may get me looking for one of those 2nd hand :wink:

Absolutely right! It starts to burn holes in your pockets the longer you look at the Moog.

Not trying to be a salesman or anything but the Triton Extreme is damn near never talked about here and it's powerful, people just have not taken a liking to it I guess. It's treated me super well all these years, never had any problems. Touch screen is great to have. But still can't front on the Moog name, I WANT the Moog name in my lab. And now the Minibrute got my other pockets burning. Even though again, I don't NEED it. Maybe, I "need to want" it but not necessarily want to need it?!?!

Moog always comes correct when they bring out new products. I still want a SP, but this would be a nice addition to my small set up.

I didn't know about the tube in that Korg... nice!
I'm really impressed with the MiniBrute so much that I lost interest in the Minitaur. I never thought I'd see the day Arturia went analog. They've done an awesome job emulating it. Now that they got the real deal, I got the worst case of analog gear lust. I hope they continue making more analog synths and hopefully before that, a nice analog drum machine priced to match the MiniBrute.

A few years back I heard some stuff on people replacing the tubes in the electribes... I wonder how that would work in the triton if possible.

I'm not about to try, it's never broken or crashed on me since I bought it so I aint phuckin with that :lol: :lol: .. And honestly I never even though about trying a higher quality tube.

i hear you lamp. I replaced a tube in my ART compressor before. I wasnt impressed. i didnt know much about it anyways I just went on what the cat said on the phone from the vendor i purchased the tubes from. ended up selling it and in retrospect it may have been the choice of tubes. it can change the entire character of the sound.

but fa real i was one ebay browsing triton extremes. :wink: not really a triton guy but you discribed a really nice piece of gear with the extreme. just browsing for now. they still go for over $1000 on the cheep side.

ditto. i was so on the minitaur now its close 2nd to the brute. i want both but brute comes first since i already have moog's slimphatty. what that means is i will likely not be able to justify buying the minitaur afterwards. but truthfully they are both incredible little big synths for the price point. this is a dream come true and i hope it starts a trend. cats back in the day had all the illest synths coming out so often that a lot of them were slept on. now adays there is only software and we need more good synths on the market like we need more good hiphop on the market. balance this shit out some :)

yeah I have no idea what effect replacing the tubes would actually have... however it leaves room for potential customization and maybe it might give you a bit of a unique sound.. The fact that it's unknown to me makes it interesting IMO.
