Are the kangs and roger stalling the market?

mpc 2500 with jjos is the "new dope" mpc.. if it doesn't do enough for you on the mpc tip, and you aren't rocking an old mpc then maybe you are on the verge of a new hobby anyway

making music on an mpc is like.. a cult. it's not going anywhere.

So true. 2500 with JJ is god! Only reason im not into that is the sound of the numark MPC´s. They have lousy bottom ends which create crappy thin sound.

first statement is on point! but i don't believe this is true. no i have not used any other mpc apart from my 2500 w/jjos1 which i've had for almost 4 yrs now and 3 yrs with jj.

i have made some crazy tracks with lots of bottom end. it's definitely upto the user on the bottom end tip. the filters are mos def worthy of producing lots of low booms n thuds, whatever you want, you just goto know how to use 'em... that combined with a synth/rompler and i'm good to go!

I own a s950 and the mpc2500. The s950 can give u that boom right away or with some playing around with the filter. For similair results with the 2500 u just have to work a little bit harder to get that low end.

correction, i've owned and used the 2kxl fully maxed for over two years.. slipped my mind.
and the resonance is way better on the lpf as opposed to the 2500 i must admit..

Never played a 2500 but I doubt the sound is stopping any one making dope records...I hear different things every day about these MPC's..oh the 1k sounds cleaner and nicer than the 2k noo the 1k sounds junk compared to old mpc's oh c'mon who really cares..
I got a S3200XL and MPC2000XL..can I tell the difference in sound? Can I hell...I actually thought the MPC sounded better once haha
Also I've had S-3000's and 2800's
One thing I will say is the S Series if fitted with the filter board sound great! Much better than the old MPC's which can't even sweep the filter when playing.
Also the other thing the S Series have is the ability to sample at full frequency 20-20k or 10k...sampling at 10k man sounds so nice...also if you sample at 10k @ 45rpm +8 sounds crunchy as hell

It all depends on what you want to do. There are many who like having the option of a tactile step sequencer with visual feedback like those of Electribes and Maschine, in addition to the regular sequencer of MPC. It allows for a certain type of creative experimentation while composing that you just can't get with the regular sequencer. Other hardware like Electribes, Machinedrum and Maschine also have very immediate ways of playing and recording automation of things like LFO, filter effects...etc by tweaking on knobs. And if you also end up tracking to a DAW, then Maschine is a no brainer with all of its flexible ways of integrating to your setup like being able to run as a plugin, drag and drop of audio or midi patterns as well as host automation and scene triggering via midi notes or program changes.
