Arturia Mini Brute Analog Hardware Synth

Any of you guys end up getting a brute? I haven't really thought about purchasing any new studio gear, but recently started thinking about the brute now that my old lady is asking what I'd like for Christmas and the .45 I want is way outta santa's budget.

Those that have one, how do you like it?

I've promised myself this as a graduation gift in January. Finally got my undergrad degree and I plan to make this my own little treat. as long as nothing derails my plan that is. but I havent even seen it in stores to play with... I think it was even on back order recently.

Nice! Congrats man...that'll be quite the present to yourself. Crossing my fingers for ya that you pick one up (if not this, maybe a minitaur? )

Yep same here (back when I was seriously considering one or the other, the 'taur or the 'brute) but as of this exact moment I'd lean towards the minibrute. Something about having a 25 key analog synth like this is pretty appealing right now. I know I could get the minitaur and a little controller, but I wish they'd release a keyed version of it- it'd be an awesome machine, but costly.

Its still on my list but right now I'm focused on three pieces of gear and saving up for them before they disappear. The Mini will get fuct with in heeya no doubt.

I'm gonna buy one of their 5.7's one of these days.
My cousin is gonna pick me up a Caspian 1911 frame in NV
( Because infant buy one new in Ca )
So I can build a fully custom 1911..... I am gonna have the frame,slide, barrel/bushing done by a pro but the other parts I can fit together myself.
I also want to get a gen 4 glock 20 while my cousin still lives there.

Yep- FNH makes 'em...FNP is the model. Also comes in 9mm and .40. A five seven would be pretty sweet too...just about as sweet as a minibrute.

I got a minibrute today!

It's far too soon to make any legitimate assessments on this thing, I'm still in the OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST THING EVAR phase. Which, who knows, it might stay that way.

But anyway, after a few hours of playing around, I eventually put this together:


All sounds are from the minibrute, no fx, directly recorded. Even the percussion! The bass drum, snare, and hats are all single patches, no layering!



And just for lolz, here's a quite heavily brute-factored bass wobble:

Congrats soldier... sounds good. The bass wobble is impressive. didnt realize the brute had drum patches. good stuff.

ohhh right. what am i thinking. no patches on the brute. i suppose twisting them knobs could yield whatever you need.

you just gotta be creative... or lucky

that snare, I found basically by accident. I was trying to make a cymbal at the time; earlier I had already recorded a completely different, but not as good snare. A little tweak of the brute factor knob with an iffy cymbal resulted in a pretty cool snare.

Now I'm just getting silly.

I changed my mind about getting one. I was dead set on one until I seen elektron a octatrack combined with their new analog 4 synth. Ordering the octatrack 1st and the analog 4 about a month later.
