Opinions on best production software

TBH, this should be more about opinions on the best audio interface you can get. That's more important to me than the s/w.

This is were the character of the sound is born.

same monitors I got in my setup, scored them on cl few months back for 250

and probably truth...you'd think theyd put more money into quality A/D across the board because they know you don't want to eventually put your shit on a nice monitors and be like 'what the hell happened'?
they can cheap out on D/A though banking on the fact that you might NOT have nice monitors, even though you might someday.

The OP gives a classic rant against Pro Tools. I just thought some of you may get a kick out of it.
