Electro house!

A partial cover of wolfgang gartner's "Illmerica", every single sound made using the minibrute, no external fx. (except a little ducking with the kick for the obligatory sidechained feel, but that's not used to modify the sound of the minibrute)

this thing is so much fun, I don't even care how terrible (?) the music sounds.

Here's a single-take, live recording of a patch I made. I call it "auto-gabber".

Basically I have the minibrute both playing a sequenced melody (on its internal sequencer!) and modulating a filter, with a lot of "brute factor" feedback distortion, to simultaneously make the kick drum.

This thing is SO much fun.

Word. Dope tho.

So since this thread talks about the mini brute, the minitaur and the analog four , I thought I would add this vid that uses all three.

Still gotta have the minibrute tho.

played one again yesterday at SAE hollywood. fell in love again. sounds nice feels nice. those full sized keys are really nice. your minibrute soundcloud joints are really nice too. seems like whenever i get close to copping i end up with other priorities. i think i will need to sneak this one past the wife. :) soon. still owe my self a grad gift.

are you using any effects units with it? its so versatile when I played yesterday certain tweaks made it sounded like it already had effects.

in some of the tracks I've posted, yes. had any in particular in mind?

One of my favorites is this lofi fuzz distortion box I made myself. sounds fantastic with the brute.

nice you should post up the DIY step/instructions in the DIY forum. as if i need another project anyways but id love to put one of those together.

Also... at long last i got a Minibrute. I think that does it for me for a good while. but I will say this is a good piece to settle in and snuggle up with.

I had little time this week but I sort of sacrificed sleep to dig into it. been rockin it with an additional filter The Mode Machines Juno f106 filter. its so sweet with it. the feel of two filters on the Minibrute is really nice. As for the Brute itself, its more fun that my mopho desktop synth mainly because of the dedicated knobs. i could go on and on and on I'm just glad i finally got it. its a great synth. you just have to get to know it. push the levels too hard and its totally wild and screaming still you can tame it with good filter work and easy on the OSC mixer. love this thing.

glad you're enjoying it - it is definitely so much fun.

You can't beat having dedicated knobs for everything.

Hey SciGuy
I dont recall if I already asked... do you use any pedals / effects with your MiniBrute? I'm rocking the mode machine's f106 juno filter and some basic delay.

Yeah, you did... :)

I'd recommend trying a fuzz or other distortion box, it can get really nasty.

I haven't tried it, but I really want to get/make a bitcrusher; that would sound sick.

It's a shame they skimped on the keyboard with the MiniBrute because the sound is excellent. My Brother had to return 2 of them because keys had lifted in transit.
