I could never mix properly with the table in landscape without throwing the tonearm off each time.

The 1210 looks brand new, is it?

Is that a the Vestax PMC 05 PRO 3 VCA? I am thinking of getting that mainly for sampling and a bit of scratching. Would you recommend it?

I have choice of either getting a pair of STR8-150 or 1200/1210 (A pair of TECHS are $240 more than the Stanton pair).
I have been reading a lot of reviews/blogs/forums, a couple of the forums had Techs Vs Stanton threads you posted in all of them protecting Stanton
(stating their superiority over the techs and that you're going to be getting some STR8-150 or some Vestax PDX next).

I was also thinking of getting a pair of PDX 3000 because they are the cheapest of the 3. The plastic is putting me off though.

A lot of the reviews and even some of the things you were posting were swaying me to the towards the Stanton.

It's weird you had mad love for the STR8-150 but instead of consummating that marriage you went back to the techs.

I have always wanted Techs but now the decision in choosing which TT's to get has become much harder more competition.

I am not mad at him for getting the TECHS, Bedouin seems to be a wise man. I feel where he is coming from though, I remember when nobody could tell me NOTHING bad I bought VESTAX MIXERS, especialy the PMC-08 PRO (Garbage). That is until I got the PIONEER DJM-909. Purely a financial issue. I was able to get the 1210 new for much less than a STR8-150. I'd still rather have a STR8-150, if for nothing else to have a straight arm again.

Should serve that purpose well. The Stanton SA-5 is always a nice mixer for the same price. That's what I was going to buy but I needed effects send / receive.

I stand by everything I said about the STR9-150. If I had the money that's what I would have purchased. I should have learned to buy what I really want the first time around by now but it seems I didn't learn my lesson. The main goal with my recent set of upgrades was to get out of the low-end and enter the high-end. I still consider the 1200 a high-end deck, so in that respect it is suffice for me.

That's never been an issue for me. Unless you juggle non stop I don't see much point in 'battle style' and figure most people do it out of blind imitation, not because there's a need.

Well I do it because it works better, and not out of imitation.

I set em' that way (Battle-Style) Because it keeps the tonearms far away from you, also because it saves space. also it positions your platters evenly, with traditional style the platter on the left will sit further from the mixer.

Id stay away from the 3000's unless you buy new w/ a warranty, mine has the infamous platter wobble of the old versions.
I forsee a mkIIpro version coming out in the future to remedy this like previous models.
With that said I would look into the 2300mkIIpro's, easily the most advanced tone arm system available to dj's and they're discontinued so they're turning up cheap.
The 3000 is a dope deck aside from the platter, which is more of an annoyance than anything.

The TTX's have treated me very well too.

Finally got around to moving my table away from the wall and repositioning the monitors properly. Also made a make shift ghetto boof!

Thanks! Originally, I was gonna buy one of those hospital curtain tracks. I found a site online that sells them, but the parts would have been nearly $150, plus I don't know how solidly I could have mounted it to the ceiling. So I took some measurements and went to an exhaust shop and had them make it out of 1.5" exhaust pipe. That way I was able to mount it to the beams to support the 7lb blanket. The mounting points are simple flanges that would bolt the pipe to a muffler or exhaust manifold/header. Only cost me $50 for them to make it. Then the heavy duty blanket was another $60 and I hung it with some $3 shower curtain hanger thingies! Now I just gotta grab the can of paint out the basement and paint it.
