the dark grey you are referring to on your xl are the graphite pads, so maybe they are different to the black nd grey pads. dunno...

Maybe it's his xl case or the camera,

Nope, that's just how they look. Always have.

Just joking  For real..the MPC 3000 is the Queen and sits atop of the hill just waiting for my b!tch (MPC 2500) to step out of line....

Just joking.....seriously though...I rarely use the MPC 3000 and I am actually getting rid of it. I have to make room for a New MPC 5000, MV-8800, or the new V-synth...

After months of collecting gear, thinking, re-thinking and setting up cable connections I finally finished my hardware only dream! It's very flexible. I can root everything to everything - audio and MIDI-wise! Enjoy!

Nah, the DPS is my DAW. A computer set-up would definitely look different! And just levelling all the stuff on the Mackie board makes it sound nice! I wanna get some compressors and fx pedals soon to have more options, but before that I have to learn all the gear inside out. Especially the Casio VZ10M and the TX 802 have quite some synthesis capabilities!T

The Electribes are cool! I'd like to see, if Korg can come up with something nice'n'new!

it IS all that!!! yea there is hype and there is truth. i owned a 1k,2kxl, 4k, and mv8800 and they all have their own "hype" as well. if it's what you desire then don't let haters change your mind-just keeping it real!!!no offense

Guessing you just got some grimey black pads then cause they don't look like the dark grey pads to me.
