Alright, now we're getting somewhere.

Besides autochop, do I have the option to manually chop samples? Do I also have the option in Timestretch to select Pitch or Keylock tempo? And last, can I sample directly from a record through rca inputs or 1/4''? I don't want a computer providing my sounds to go into the BT by usb only.

They learning how to do business the hard way, someone got to them and told them
potential buyers are always going to go research what ever product they are interested in, and that diehard producers are in this furum and that they are prospective buyers of that new drum machine.

It might be a little late to rehab there image and the image of the thagz, the only way to win people over is making sure its one hell off a machine its not what you say it will do but what it does.

Its the wrong furum to try to sell to ,I dont see if you use an MPC why go try wonabee
like an MPC or it has a MPC like feel,or this one MPC like pads when other companies are
always trying to compare to what you already have that should be telling you thats a speacial machine.

BEATKANGZ wrote:I hope in the end you will see we are not that different from you guys and we are on YOUR side.

Your tone has certainly changed but I think the thing that is so weird is how you guys (and you specifically) appear to be operating purely on raw nerves and emotion. When you're the hired spokeshole for the company (PR Rep), your job is not to be abrasive and challenging as you were earlier, or be our friend by trying to show we're alike as you are now.

I understand you think that you're just "being real" but we're not interested in YOU, or your crew, or who ever else is in your photos fronting at the camera all the time.

Your potential customers are interested in what your product does and whether it's backed by a company with staying power. Talking to us (whether nicely or obnoxiously) on an emotional level simply tells me that while your product may be good, I'm not sure about the professionalism of the company that stands behind it.

I dislike PR flaks in general, because their job is to not overpromise while at the same time try to create awareness and excitement of a product. The best ones generally stay tight-lipped with regard to future promises and distribute only the most credible information.

The worst ones overcommit and make a bunch of empty promises. You sort of fall into this category for me. And it's worse because you're clearly responding emotionally to these forum posts.

Let me give you an example;

YOU, say, "we stand by our product". This is nice, but empty, flavorless drivel. No company has ever said "we won't stand by our product". Lots of poor PR people say this.

But it makes me start to think about the size of your company and whether you could potentially handle a significant problem on a large scale. What if some chip on one of your boards has a heating issue similar to the Xbox 360 that causes the thing to stop working? What if your power supply has issues that cause the thing to burst into flames? I can see myself on your hotline now, "But BEATKANGZ said on the MPC-FORUMS that he'd stand behind his product?"

Sound impossible? Well you admit you're a small Indy company just trying to compete against the big guys. And a big company like Microsoft spent over a billion dollars solving their Xbox 360 problem. Countless companies have had recalls of their power supplies, costing them hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Can an indy beat making company offer me protection on a $1,000 investment? Your claim makes me wonder... mayeb you should have avoided the drivel in the first place.

BEATKANGZ wrote:It would be nice if you guys would set the jokes aside for a min and join us and help us build. You guys must have a passion for this music thing or you wouldnt be so into this forum.

No offense, but this is also empty, flavorless drivel. Air. But not even foul air since it contains nothing of substance. Disagree? OK, let me ask you this, "How are we going to help you build?" We're busy building on REAL machines already. We're making music. We're finding solutions for real problems. You want us to build for beatkangz, how are we supposed to do that? NO ONE HAS EVEN SEEN YOUR MACHINE IN ACTION!

BEATKANGZ wrote:The reason we hang around here is in hopes we can find a few people in here who really want to be apart of something.

We want to be "apart" from your meaningless PR FLAK spokeshole drivel. We want to be "a part" of a real product with real specs from a real company willing to stand behind it over the long term.

I keep reminding myself, that you're coming at this emotionally. But if you really believe this is about creating a community of Che-like beatmaking revolutionaries to stand up to the man, then I'm sorry but you should be fired. You're a company. We're a market. You connect us with integrity via a great quality product, not because of some hyped up love over vaporware from a company claiming to represent some cultural segment of America. If you don't actually believe your own hype, then you should realize that angle is patronizing and embarassing.

Show us the product and then get the hell out of the way. Make it easy to demo, easy to buy. If we like it, we'll buy it. Maybe some will decide to become an honorary Kang-Revolutionary Guard, Grassroots family member, but that comes later.

BEATKANGZ wrote:So your choice..... Help an indy beat machine company get off the ground or sit around bash us and crack jokes.

OMG. You mean there are no other alternatives? We're either with you or against you? Haters or Lovers? Being Real or Posing? We have no other options?

So is this bashing? Or is this constructive criticism? Are we friends or enemies? Do people who like my post your enemies and people who hate my post part of the Kang Liberation Front?

Please. Things aren't that simple. Even the worst PR people don't generalize to the extent you just did. So why not just re-read what I said and then shush. Seriously...zip it. No really, just be quiet...

BEATKANGZ wrote:Either way we gonna do this.

Well good luck with that.

EDIT: I just grabbed a beer, came back, re-read my post and believe I was unfair with regard to my last statement. It's not my place to tell you not to post, and I apologize for that. Post away. I just hope it's more substantive in the future.

To the beat kangz if you really look into all these past post 63 plus, if you really look at it you probably would be able to get real good feed back if you’re cable off reading between the lines, I’m all for competition because competition will make Akai, Roland, Linn, all have to bring there A game to keep up and that’s all good in my book.

If you can tell us what market are trying to brake into the mpc500, mpc1000, or possibly the mpc2500 give us head start and am sure plenty off cats in here would start breaking down the specs off each machine.

I guarantee by the time the comparison is over you would know where your machine stack up by the specs you have laid out, the pros and cons and what you can do to ad to your machine.

There’s a lot off cats into that sort off thing around here, I’m a MPC head for life I love banging away at these machines.

And I wont be getting on the beatz kangz forums but would test it out at GC and give my opinion like every body else. I’m interested to see what you guys actually come out with.

This machine is not for me but I will definitely be honest of weather it’s a special machine or just another beat machine on the market.

Let us know which machine you going after.

then why is dude so strongly supporting it hence the main topic (same topic in countless forums). which is a smack in the face to me and akai mpc forums (like they trying to hit akai when they where down with os 1.0) shit people pay over $2500 hundred for there mpc s (personally). so i give this a chance check the specs, watch a video, and the things made for 16 year olds. get the f@ck out of here! NO JOKE FOR REAL call me ignint but when you see this shit everywhere. and still noone important, or you actually know is using this thing.proofs kind of in the pudding

is there a beat kangs forum or something .this **** is just annoying every day they find a way to be in the new post section on every forum i visit. lock this bullsh!t PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I THINK THEY GOT THERE POINT ACROSS AND EVERYBODY HERE CLICKED ON IT .

im sure it a great product.

so really if you down with beat kangs beat it, go do some research where it will count. cause they just getting clown on up here. i feel bad

plus look where its placed MPC studio environments not a good look IMO

while I can agree that it is better to get your own samples.. records, portable recorders... what ever... I can see why they put a sh!tload of stuff on the machine for when you buy it. Some people dont like finding new original stuff, or some people dont like digging. they like browsing a sample library. Those people are still potential clients and since the beat kings make beats they might aswell throw their samples on the machine since they have them anyways.

Yeah it lights up, the new akai drum machine does also... in fact most recent drum machines and table top units like electribes etc... they light up also. It is a new trend, by the time guitar center has them on the shelves... light up pads might be expected for all we know. it doesn't cost extra to add on the machine really but why not. I mean they include a button to turn the lights off so...

the pads, well not everyone had to make a 4x4 pad layout... and some people liked the ASR-X layout so it is cool to get anoter machine like that.. not to mention it has a keyboard layout also (only 1 octave but who cares) it's great for melodies.

they are putting a good amount of ram, that is nice. just seeing the number "2 gigs" is expected these days when talking about memory.

I didn't bother reading all the crap about marketing, I mean I dont drink coke cause ray charles was in the commercial. When we see the damn machine, I wont be disapointed if it works well just because I dont like the beat kangs...

This is what we keep trying to get across to you. WE ARE NOT HIRED SPOKES PEOPLE. The three guys in the pic ARE THE COMPANY. We designed the machine, Assembled the SW/hardware team aquired the funding , lined up the factories and run the show. Maybe it's hard to think three dudes off Tha block from the slums of Detroit and Chattanooga could put something like this together but we did. We did it our way and got to keep control.

This is Aja prez of the Kangz, light skin dude in the pics. I worked for Sam Ash and got promoted to Samson where I became a product specialist. They gave me a shot. After 911 I left cause the travel was to crazy. I put out a Lil record toured a bit on some under ground shit. Then hooked up with REV (one wit Tha dreads ) and Boom had already been working wit me. We were making beats and producing artists when I made the streetboxx deal happen wit zoom. Samson distributed zoom so that was one of my product lines I had to rep.... The ST224 was my beast and I was the baddest Lil dude on Tha block with that. That's what got me on with ASH.

We did the best we could with the streetboxx but zoom was way to conservative. We tried to get them to really go for it but they just wanted to be safe.

So we assembled an army and went to work. So you can kill that hired spoke sperson speak cause this shit is hard ass grind work. It is hard as hell. We started from scratch. This ain't some
Recycled old hardware..... We building this one for real. We know this is our shot to do something so we are making it right. If you think about it it's really OUR shot. If we make this happen it will open the door to more empowerment of the under ground movement cause the folks at the top will see we can do things and build things with out micro management.

Of course we get bent when folks attack us and our dream.... Wouldn't you?

I had to get that off my chest. I ain't gonna listen to that we just hired spokes people bull shit.
We hire folks and work with them. No one hired us!

As for Tha damn THANG here's the answer to the question.

Sample can be auto chop and manual with wavform and number view on board and we will have a Computer app for editing and kit creating. You can edit the auto chop pieces after the chop easily for finer adjust ments.

As for time stretch we are working now on improving what traditional time strech can do but we will try to have something in the 1.0 or soon there after. Real time stretch eats allot of power so we are looking into the Rex style type of stretching.

You can sample into the thang through the analog input. It will be a stereo TRS input capable of Line level so it's a combo jack, mic XLR or stereo 1/4 so just connect your decks to a mixer and the mixer dual RCA to stereo TRS 1/4" and the connect your 1/4 out of Tha thang on another channel in your mixer. Then you have two decks running through our FX..... And you can sample on the fly to pads, sync beats, and connect your Laptop through USB and record it all or hell get audio from there and sample it too...... And.....connect to a hard drive and access songs samples beats etc..... All while in a pitch black studio or club..... And then there was the iPod......
There is a new way you are going to be able to promote and sell your music.... If you know who our VP is then you may know we are in that game hard..... You should all look up live nation records and who the pres was. We fell up in some crazy thangz.

I hope more Thangz will become clear as the story unfolds.

We are still building the camp so bring your talents, your ballz and your mental and let's piss off Tha whole world and make some BEATZ

The Thang does exist and is real and working but before we send betas and all that, it's gotta get past us and we are hard nose about functionality. We want the betas to even be Tha shit.

I know it's just talk to some of you of course because we the only ones in Tha world wid it. The right people in Tha game have seen it in action though.....

If people got questions we are gonna do our best to answer even though they cant get it yet. It's good for us too cause we value the input.

If you just wanna wait and see for your self when it hits stores then cool. If you don't like the thread don't read it. Simple
