hi, i want to buy a mpc but don't want to pay for a new one ($1300+tax). they have some used mpcs on ebay for $800-1000. has anyone here had experience buying used mpc's on ebay or online? i dont want to purchase a lemon and i can only rely on pics and feedback history on ebay. any input would be appreciated, thanks.

i got my 2000 for $750 on ebay. its excellent. ebay is an excellent source for studio equipment. just make sure you read the feedback. and make sure you trust the seller. but i highly recommend buying from ebay. before you buy for $800 you might be able to get one for cheaper. keep looking. dont just jump on the first nice deal. there's lots of em.
good luck

I just got a mint condition 2000xl last week off ebay for $930. It was fully loaded except for effects. I got my keyboard off ebay too. Everything was all good. Try to find someone with a high feedback that has sold a lot of stuff, preferably music gear. Don't be afraid to ask the seller any questions you might have, I mean anything. I always ask the person a question even if it might seem stupid just to see where there head is at. Always ask them how there are going to pack it, it's best to get one that still has the original box and styrofoam. If they don't have original box make da** sure it is going to packaged correctly ( bubble wrap and the whole nine).

I got my mpc 2000 off ebay for £400 with full ram and 8 outs, like everyone says just check out the dudes feedback and ask questions, get all the info you can. mine works fine tho a little rough around the edges but sometimes I wish I paid the extra buck for an XL, I don't get time stretch

yeah, make sure you pay attention to feedback from BUYERS though...and sometimes you can click on the item numbers to see what they've sold. Someone who's only bought stuff and never sold expensive stuff usually doesn't get my trust. Also scam artists will do things like buy or sell a bunch of cheap stuff to build feedback, then flood ebay with ads for computers or whatever. Sniff out the situation, ask a ton of questions, usually you can tell if the persn is straight up. And never use Western Union to pay for anything, you'll lose your money.

American music supply will let you make payments on almost all products over $500. No credit is required, you just need a valid checking account.
I have a friend who just got an mpc1000 for 3 payments of $299.

Got mines off e-bay $780. I thought I bought a lemon because my sh*t kept cutting off in mid-work. Opened that sh*t up and found out some of the connections on the power board needed to be soldered correctly. Copped a soldering iron from Home Depot $15 and never had a problem since. But like my man said, definitely read the sellers feed back

New from Mars music 1299. However, I know a few guys who copped from ebay. None of them have any difficulties. Not to mention, I too buy other various equip from ebay, I have never had any problems. Oh, but be careful there are crooks everywhere.
