Hi

I am very new to the site and would like to know how would I connect my Roland V-Club drum kit to my MPC2000xl and take advantage of my 8 out audio card I have just purchased for my MPC.

My TD-6 V-Club only has 2 stereo outs and I would like to use the MPC to not only trigger the TD-6 sound bank but also record thru the mpc and utilize the 8 out capability on my mpc for recording audio to my computer.

My equiptment is as follows:

Roland TD-6 V-Club
Mpc2000xl with 8 out card
Behringer MX9000 mixer
Delta1010
Computer running Cakewalk pro audio9(for right now. Will be upgrading)
Midi express XT (non usb)

I'm just guessing here;

you can't use the 8 outs on the MPC unless there are sounds in the MPC. My guess is that you might be able to do a sample dump from the roland modual to the MPC and then assign the drum pads to notes in the MPC.

Anyone else wanna try this one?

Hey...

Thanks for reply. Sorry for being so late replying back. I've been trying learn how to sample but I just can't seem to get it right. I've been reading the manual but ....well....here's what happens : aftersetting the threshhold to -32 leaving all else as is, I then press record and then run over and tap one of my drum pads on the V-Club. I see that at least it says recording on the MPC. I then give it a name and assign it to a pad. When I try to play the sample nothing comes out. I check tha wave form and see a small wave form, but still I can't play it . What could I be doing wrong?

I still do not understand how the threshold works :) Can you explain?

Thanks inadvance :)

P.S I luv my MPC

samples came with your mpc:
- load the samples into the mpc
- connect the midi out of the electronic drums to the midi in of mpc
- map the pad of the electronic drums to the mpc
- assign the pads on the mpc to whatever outs (audio) you want
- connect the audio out of the mpc to your mixer
that should be it.

make sure you set the midi channel on both mpc and electronic drums to 1 (or whatever midi channel you want). this is pretty simple. i have a drumkat and mpc2000 that i use and works great.

If you want the MPC to trigger the soundbank then you just assign the proper MIDI note numbers in the program assign mode, you'll have to play the MPC to get the sounds and even then it'll be comming through the sound bank not the MPC

I'm no help here, just brainstorming
