anybody familiar with the alesis quadraverb

I want to know how to connect it (midi) to my mpc and/OR keyboard so each individual midi channel has its own effects. The way I have it now, it affects the whole thing instead of just the individual channels.

I plugged the midi out (on alesis) to midi in 2 (on mpc) and midi out b (on mpc) to midi in (on alesis). This didnt help. I have the inputs/outputs running thru my mixer.

I hope this is clear. If anybody can help me id appreciate it. i have no manual for this joint and im stuck.

Sorry man but effects do not happen over MIDI. All you can do with midi is control what effect and how much etc. If you have only stereo inputs then everything is getting effected on those inputs. It is all about anolog in = anolog out. There are some effect boxes that will do multiple effects but they will have seperate inputs and outputs. Does this make sense? I hope this helps.

yea it helps thanks. so how would I go about putting effects only the instruments I want? i guess it depends on what kind of effects processor you have? hmm

If you have an 8 out option, you can route individual instruments directly to the QV and control the mix value from the QV control panel. You still need a mixer to hear everything back. I had a QV back in the day. I think it has 4 inputs and two outputs. I forgot. Anyway, the best way to do this is to get a mixer with at least one auxiliary. The more, the better.Hook the inputs of the QV to the SEND, and the outputs to the RETURN. Each channel on the mixer has a nob labeld "AUX". When you turn the nob to the right it applies the effect from the QV to that channel. The more you turn, the more effect you hear mixed in with the original sound. I hope I'm not telling you sh*t you already know. This is mixing boards 101.

lol yea i got it all hooked up aight. im hearin everything tight. i was just wondering how to do individual instruments, but thanks for your help. at least I know im doin it rite
