Looking around for some good beat-making videos involving the MPC4000 I came across a few MPC videos that were inspirational and resulted in the creation of good music. It’s always good to see how others get down.
I’m talking about the ones you want to watch over again to remind yourselves how simple it can be to create music once you’ve mastered your tools. The one’s that make you proud to own an MPC. The one’s that have you glued to the monitor the whole time. You know, the real GOOD ones.
I couldn’t find a dedicated thread for MPC videos on the forums so I thought it would be helpful to create one. Not only do videos make for interesting viewing they also help MPC newbies realise the potential of this classic piece of hardware and serve as an instructional/ reference tool.
Post up links any top quality videos which clearly show the MPC being used to full effect to create dope beats in a studio environment, not just sitting idle in the background. Not really talking about tutorials, as such, but beatmaking videos that capture the essence of the typical MPC production workflow without too much unnecessary chit-chat.
Here’s a few I liked to get this thread rolling:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=aoYeDtMfnXM (S2Keyz w/French dialogue. MPC4000)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BOIc8dghjj0 (Just Blaze on Smack DVD. MPC4000 YouTube classic)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oqFhl0Lv0yE (Charlie Darker on the MPC4000)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=00jnZDiGC1g (Altruwest TV. MPC4000. Funny!)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl1GO-MaHx4 (Cheese Beats. MPC4000 w/Miko Demo)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IVz3VMzYcD8 (Rawbeatzz. Dirty South track MPC4000 w/Motif)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=P6OLnpMT0W0 (Boon Doc. MPC1000. Banging out those chops. Crazy!)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-_DzoNuZ9Q0 (Boon Doc 2009. MPC1000 with commentary)
Whenever possible, please provide a brief description about the link as I have done. I know many of the seasoned YouTube surfers may have seen these already. I’m sure you can add links to one of your favourite MPC videos for the benefit of the growing number of members we have here.
That's 75 minutes of MPC-TV right there.
Enjoy!
PS: Let's make this thread a good one to kick off 09, it may get stickied at a later stage....
Please resist the urge to post videos of yourself here, let your peers decide if its good.
If in doubt refer to the above mentioned criteria so we can keep this thread ON POINT!
