Thinking of selling 1K + getting 2xl or ASR 10

I'm thinking of getting rid of my 1k. I'm not that happy with it. It works fine, but it just doesn't have the feat. that I want and would benefit from. I'm basically looking for something that is not going to tie me to a computer for relatively simple things.

I'm just wanting to get some opinions. I'm thinking of copping either the 2xl or the ASR 10. Which one would you suggest?

I'm also wondering how much the FX card for the 2xl usually goes for used?

Do you think this is a good move?

Also, is $1,199 a good price for a used 2xl studio plus, 8 outs,SMPTE, zip drive, FX card?

Yo, have you noticed the panel on the front of the 1k? Notice how it seems to be removeable and the flash drive doesn't take up much space. Do I see room for improvement? There could be things in the works for the future. Time will only tell. If the 1k is holding you back then switch over. The resale on any mpc is good, so take the leap, it's not that risky of a move. Plus a used mpc will have nice broke in pads.

u should sell the 1k and save a little and get the regular 2k and cop a asr10 and u will be set. u can probably cop a regular 2k for 500 or mabye even less and cop the asr10 for around 600-700. good luck. peace

my man lou, makin big moves!!!!! thats what i like to see man. Hey the 1000 seems great but not for everyone! If you wanna get rid of the computers, I say your making a good choice! I dont know about the asr, but i hear it is hot. I say stick with akai, but im biased! I couldnt tell you about the prices, but i can say that i think its a great move! Hopefully I will see you on the 2000xl/2000 boards! peace

If I decide to hold onto the 1k for awhile do you think the used prices for them will depreciate within a year?

Lou-One I feel ya the 1k is not for everybody! I have the 1k and Im tryin to move away from my pc myself Im thinkin bout the MV-8000 or the 4k tho! If u can get the XL studio plus for $1,199 do it! Regular price online for the XL studio plus is $1,399! I wouldnt hold on to the 1k get rid of it while there still HOT!

or you could just buy a rack sampler like i'm planning to do.

True big-slick, Lou-One can do that but I think he wants that hardware feel of the XL! I LOVE that hardware feel mos def!

this sounds like the hottest thing to do.......I think you can get an asr-10 for less though just shop around......don't pick the 1st one you see

but, i think ur right. cuz asr10's with scsi and a couple of other options are goin for close to 900-950 on ebay. its scary. im about to sell my spare one afteralll.
