What else do i need

What up beat heads...check out the deal...i got a mpc...a midi controller(not hooked up yet) and i got a turntalbe...i wanna start composing my own melodies...so i was wondering what else what i need to do that....besides a rack...what else can i use....help me out

You said that you have a Midi Controller and a MPC. You didn' say synth, so I guess that you'll be using the controller with sample instrument sounds on the MPC, correct? If so, you'll have to set up you MPC program to allow for the sample's various pitches in the program since you won't be able to use the MPC's internal 16 Levels features that way. So, you need to place a different pitched version of the sound on the number of keys you want.
