yo, i'm trying to use the mpc to sample from my stereo/CD unit. There is only a l/r aux on the unit and I have a Mackie 12 channel mixer, I want to get sound from the CD player to mpc to sample, but there is no signal coming in to the meters. Also, I have psr540 that I want to be controlled by the mpc1000 so I can play the board with the mpc, instead of sampling my keys. I can control the mpc with the keyboard but not the other way around. Put me up and how it goes down!

for the keyboard quest.
plug midi out on key to MPCs midi in.
Mpcs Midi out into keyboards in.
Then goto The main screen and at the bottom below track 1 it should say
S:Drum1
move data wheel back to
S:MIDI where it says OFF move that to device 1a. That means that on MIDI channel 1 in port A will be controlled by the keyboard.
The audio question I dont get. I would plug the cd player into an Input on the mackie and then have the effect pre or post send, send it out to the MPCs record in.

cool, i've tried exactly what you're talking bout, and that just allows the keyboard to play the mpc, and i have to say, i got the mp to work one time but I didn't check to see how I had it configured. So, should I cut the local off and receivech off on my keyboard so the commands are sent out to the mpc? I'm sorry, I know I'm confusing but the way you told me seems to make sense, but it didn't work. Also, my cd/stereo is one unit, which means I have to go to aux to hear the mp, does that have something to do with my problem? Good looking!!
