of course more dilemas have arisen.

Just bought a rode ntk condenser mic and a focusrite penta preamp.

ok so here we go, from the rode to the power supply there is a cable with 5 pins on each end, this cable attaches to the power supply the ntk comes with, then an xlr cable is connected from the power supply to the preamp, then in the back of the preamp i go from 1/4" to rca cable into my delta 1010lt which only has rca ins. ok, the multi-track program that i am using is cool edit. It doesnt even seem that the preamp is even outputting anything into the delta so I dont hear any sound. If you have an idea where Im missing something or if im doing something wrong put me on because im really hyped to get this ish to work like by tommorow.btw, i dont have the manual for anything and I did try pressing the phatom power on the preamp. also i tried taking out the xlr from the power supply and hooking up one of my dynamic mics and the meter displaying the output starting going up and down as if it was working but then i still couldnt hear it on cool edit.

could it be that the voltage from the power supply should be raised from 115 to something else?also in the back of the power supply there is a switch that has "lift" on one side and "gnd" on the other, it is switched to gnd at the time being.

I have the Penta manual for you. It's not that big, so i could scan it for you.
You should be able to see an input (on the input meter)on the Penta when you plug a mic in.

yea i dont see any input on the meter, do you think its the cable that the ntk came with that is the problem?

when i get home from school i have all day to fix this, so hopefully by tonight well have this problem solved.
