A bunch off questions

Yo!
I use cool edit pro to record with, and when both the beat and the ryhmes are recorded what do I do to make the shit sound pro. What kind of compression or something should I use?

Right now i just use the MPC2000xl and akg headphones and a cd-player and 1000 of old obskure cd's. I had my mpc for about a year and know the whole deal about sampling choping and even make som allright beats. I fell that I kind of need to take things to another level, not just sample,chop, layering drums and stuff. I have played piano for about 9 years so i have the hang of tones, melodies. I have been thinkin about purchasing a soundmodule/box/filter/racksynth and the MFC-42 and mo phatt/planet phatt have been in my mind, or a compressor or something..

What is your sound lacking from sounding pro? you will have to be a little more specific than that. even on the gear you have talent will show through. you feel me. gear may bring you sound to the next level a little but it wont make the beats for you. a wack beat is a wack beat polished or not. same goes for a tight beat. dont go waste you money on shit you dont need. my recomendation? M Box, monitors of your choice and or needs, a goof condenser mic, a sound proof room, I could go on. get the m box first though. you will like it. stop reading this and go buy it. go now!

i had this same problem before i bought sum monitors, headphones (no matter how good the quality) will never get your sound to the level of pro, the bass will always be off. monitors should be your first interest of purchase, trust me.
