My 2 brothers (one on guitar, another on bass) and I are currently only recording new material, but are hoping to start playing live early next year. I haven't really dabbled much with MIDI at the moment and would like to ask a few questions to see how much this would help us playing live.
1) I use a Microkorg and Juno-D. Am I correct in understanding that I could hook these two up to the MPC500 and use this to record segments of song using the Sequence function?
2) If the above assumption is correct, what would be the most efficient way to connect all 3 ?
3) Using one Sequence, could I record 1 Microkorg voice on Track 1, another Microkorg voice on Track 2, etc ?
4) I have read all manuals for all mentioned equipment, are there any recommendations for further reading about MIDI (taking into account I'm pretty much a novice) ?
What would be handy to me would be the fact I wouldn't need 6 arms to try and do everything on my equipment when playing, which MIDI might assist with.
Many thanks in advance for any tips / advice given. Cadw 'i 'n sylweddol.
