After i finshed a beat i the Mpc i usally record it into cool edit,,connecting the "record out" from mpc to "line in" on the soundcard.

Now my soundcard has crashed,,
and im thinking of buying a "audiophile 24/96"
but does it make a whole lot a diffrence if a get a 24 bit/96 soundcard
or a simpel 16 bit soundcard? some people say that it doesnt make any diffrence becouse the mpc works in 16 bit,, dont know what to think..
give me some advise

Yes. Although some people claim they don't hear the difference, you can if you're not half deaf.
24/96 will also give you more headroom, so it should be easier for most folks to get a decent signal without clipping.
