if you want one of the best filters go for the sherman filter bank....
it is not as instantly gratifying as some other filters (meaning if you were to go into a music store and try them out it may not be as fun to play with at first because it has a learning curve) but in the end it sounds unbeleivable once you know how to use it. Put it on a bassline or drums, tweak the settings for a bit and WOW.....pure analog heaven....

The sherman is a bit of a classic now, and might be even harder to find than the mfc in finland for a decent price.
The Sherman filterbank 2 retails for about 650 euro's.
The mfc42 can be found for about 350-400 euro, so it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

akai still makes the mfc. You can purchase it for about $300-$350 US. It is now blue like the new MPCs.

I bet you can still find the mfc42 in germany or the UK. I saw one in a shop in Amsterdam for 350.
http://www.midi-amsterdam.nl/
Give some internetshops a call to see if they stock it.
