midi controler/or triton????

ok, hear me out,
i got a 2000xl, i want some type of keyboard,i know tritons are the ish
but, the mpc is already a sequencer, so if i got a midi controler like a
FATAR, studiologic SL880 Pro, and some type of rack for some sonds,
wouldnt that save me some cash, OR will the triton be better for the long run


im confused

i just wan a keyboard and a wide varity of sounds,im no shur if i want or need the extras on a triton, my mpc is the brain .....

If all you want are Keys + sounds, then definitely cop a rack plus a controller. Look at the money you'll save. A keyboard controller plus a Motif rack with the 2000 would be deadly...

What you will be losing is sampling capability(in most cases), and sequencing. Not a big deal though cause the MPC sequencer is the sh*t.

Popular sound modules that sample are the Triton Rack, Fantom XR and the XV-5080 (it doesnt actually "sample", but you can load samples into it). The Motif rack does not sample, but the internal sounds are ridiculously nice.

Basically, if you're planning on using the MPC as the "brain", then you would be wasting money by buying a keyboard with an internal sequencer.

i fugured that you could just use the mpcs sequencer
i think i even heard it is better then the tritons,
THE RACKS, and midi controler do i have to worry about compadability with eachother or the mpc

if i was loosing a sequiencer and a sampler then it no big deal
if thats all....... i think there has to be more benafits of a triton, or do people just get it cause its popular, i heard of a triton before a mpc. im glad i got a mpc though
i like to do most of my sampleing on my computer its easy then i put it on cd or zip and put it into my mpc, that way when i put it on my mpc there is very little to edit .....

I used to use a MPC2000 with a Roland JV-2080 (the older version of the XV-5080) and a Midiman Keystation 61 key controller (which is a piece of poo poo...), but I just sold the 2080 so I can buy a Motif.

As far as compatability problems, midi is midi is midi... What I mean is, as long as your piece of gear has midi ins/outs, it will be "compatable" with any other piece of gear with midi ins/outs.


As for the reason that the Triton is so popular? I dont really know. The sounds on the Motif kill the Triton. Maybe its cause people are infatuated with the large touch-screen display on the Triton. Its cool and all, but it has nothing to do with its sound and ability to make ill music. It just helps you navigate through its features easier. I guess it look s pretty tight too, with the silver finish and all...

and what about a kurzwell rack are those any good,
honstly i want a rack with good sounds IN it, i hate buying shit then having to upgrade, does the motive have good sounds out of the boix,
or is there no such thing
