MPC in a band context

My friend and I want to start a band and use the MPC as the main sampling/sequencing brain of the operation. Other than that, I'll have a Nord Lead 2, 2 guitars and amps, and vocals. Has anyone on the forum done anything similar to this? Have you had any problems equipment wise? How well is it received by the audience? Do you think people get disinterested because you don't have all live musicians playing?

I'm playin in a band with my mpc and a korg karma. There are drums (1 guy) and other "live instruments" such as violin, pipes, flutes (1 guy). So we are 3 on stage, and i must admit that the audience is a bit surprised, wonderin where all this sound come from...
I think it's really important to show that everything on stage is an instrument you can play with (there are pads on MPC, huh ??).
But it depends on the style of your music ...
