Sorry I searched but couldn't find an answer. Here is what I have. MPC 1000, M-Audio Keystation, Tascam US-122 and Reason. I've got the MPC set up with Reason I can trigger sounds from the pads and record. But it only works from the mpc pads if i play anything with the keystation I get nothing (i've tried with my mpd24 same thing). I have the midi out from the keystation pluged into midi in 1 on the mpc and my midi out from the mpc into the midi in on my tascam. I'm guessing there is something wrong with my midi sync settings on the mpc but I can't figure it out. Can someone help?

You might need to use a seperate MIDI OUT for the MPC pads and the Keystation.

This can be selected on each MPC track.

Have you tried this?

Also is the Keystation USB powered or does it only have MIDI ports?

This has nothing to do with MIDI sync, it's your MIDI routing that's not quite right.

ive just set up my 2500 with an oxygen 8/mpc/reason

the way i done it is plugged the oxygen 8 into the mpc to record the midi AND plugged it direct into laptop to trigger reason, then when i hit record it will record the midi in the mpc when i hit the keys and play the reason notes.
playing back the recorded mpc midi notes then triggers reason to play it back....

clear as mud?
maybe someone can point out a better way........

I'm not to sure what you mean by seperate midi out I'm still really new to actual midi. The keystation is USB powered and it has just 1 midi out port I could get the sounds to play in reason thru the usb and the mpc pads. Just my MPC doesn't seem to be getting and midi data from the keyboard even when I just try to trigger normal samples from it I get nothing, I thought maybe something was just weird with the keyboard so i tried with the MPD and still got nothing.

I think what you you're looking at is - Keystation USB to computer and configured in Reason preferences. MPC midi out to US122 midi in and set up as a generic controller in Reason.

BUT I've been trying to figure out recently (without reading the manual haha) how to hook up my MPK to control my MPC 2KXL. So far no dice. :(

Does your Keystation have a MIDI OUTPUT SELECTOR switch on the back panel with a pair of choices such as 'MIDI OUT PORT or USB'? My old Oxygen 8 had this switch to enable the user to select the midi output destination.

The keyboards won't output MIDI from both the MIDI OUT port and the USB PORT at the same time, choose one or the other.

MPK needs the power adapter to use the midi out ports
