Ill have been rocking out the 2KXL for 3 years come end of April.

If I could show you my first few beats and show you the material im making now there would be a vast improvement and some embarrassment

But what got me on the MPC was when I was 17/18 yrs old (2006) I was recording off of a demo of FL 4 at the time onto some cheap midi program. The computer crashed and lost everything I had not recorded and the programs themselves. To keep it short a few months went by with nothing and finally I decided to get serious. Following advice and inspired by Damu, PUTS and others I copped my MP off Ebay. It changed my life.

How bout yous?

^same , but i roK a 2kxl, Ive add everything but the eb16, and i love her ,she's my only piece i use on a regular besides my technics 1200's.

i wanted an apple back then to make music went to FRYs and became a unsatisfied customer so i went to guitar center and looked at what i can buy for1700 i got me Miss MPC2kxl and some krk speakers .but not from GC i got them at PSSL they threw in some sound kits i was set and hooked for life, after reading the manual for a week and wondering how the hell to turn it on and what it did....this was my first real instrument as some may think it's not ,why would they sell it at a music store then.
anyways it's a great machine and i love it ...call me crazy some wild digital dream and many yrs of loss of sleep ive had abot it, when i first was learning it man i would nt sleep for weeks i just want to learn this thing BAAAD!!. then about a year later i new momre about it but i found this forum and this machine and this forum changed my life. and ive met some really cool people on here

10 years and counting, I bought my first MPC (2000XL) back in 2000, and it's still going strong.

I bought my 2000XL fully upgraded as soon as it came out, but I sold it last year and upgraded to the 2500. Learning to sample on the XL was the best education for me without a doubt.

2005 mpc 1000
2007 mpc 3000
2008 mpc 2000 classic
2009 mpc 2000xl

hahaha i know i ran through them like a mpc whore but 2000xl is where its at its my baby i knocked out about 80 tracks from when i got to know which wasn't too long ago but the workflow is amazing, although the mpc 3000 had the best sound and the mpc 1000 was up to date so it had amazing features,,, but like i said mpc 2000xl is where its at for me and that's what im sticking with

It was killing my mental when I first jumped on it, I've calmed down since and got a few things down pat.
My 2kxl getting no airtime right now, sitting in the corner mad as all hell.

While I was in the desert 08, I bought it from a friend and had it sent to my Cali workplace.
Was waiting on my desk when I got back.

I have had my MPC 3000 for 17 years bought it brand new directly from Akai, I actually have a prototype without the smpte card, I was the third person in the US to have the MPC 3000, that's no joke! Peace
