combine mac & pc?

I`l soon get a mpc 1000, but Im also thinkin of an ibook. now Im on pc, and I wonder how U can combine both, or is it a bad idea? from what I know, the mpc 1000 makes waw-files, and isn`t the standardformat on mac aif? basicly, can I send samples, tracks, from the 1k via usb to both my pc and the mac without problems? thats my quest.... also, I got a whole lot of samples on my pc, could I draw it into a new mac? I guess it might be painfull and take lot of work......

Whatever format is used natively by each respective platform doesn't matter really. It's mostly down to which programs you want to use.

If you have network cards in both computers, you can quite easily transfer files between them (and fast too, normally around 1.5MB/second).

DB is right. Networking is a good idea. Check out www.macaddict.com or one of the other OSX forums for details. OSX is your best bet for easy croos platform networking. It's only about the file formats of your audio and your sequences then. If you use a PC and Mac version of the same software, you're all good.
