Well here's the finished project. . . sorry for the crummy pics. Walnut case, fitted to the steel plate, angled so the switches have clearance from the ground. Next time I'd try to find lower profile switches. . . These have a perfect feel though with shoes on.
I used a piece of wire I had which gave each switch two 16 ga wires (Pretty diesel) I used the N.O. switch contacts, although I think the MPC auto senses which way the switches are set up when you turn it on. I screwed a tight fitting strain relief to the wire so the solder joints won't get stressed. A the plug end I used neutrik plugs I had lying around and used a piece of black heat shrink to close off the outer (white) insulation. I left it long enough so that if I am working standing up, the foot switches are able to be used. . .
the circuit is super simple, I took the project a bit further...
next up - a hi-fi phono pre for my turntable. I want to get the best possible sound in the MPC to work with. (within reason)
