After reading their manual over and over I still can't understand how to use the multitimbral function.

I got a sort of an answer over at tweakhead, but I am still not clear.
The guy over there said that he called the help desk over at roland, and they said to...

1. Have it on performance
2. turn it to PST-B
3. Turn the value knob to 14

and he should be able to control the patch assignment, BUT with his sonar xl.
I am using MPC 2000XL.

I know there gotta be someone on here using xv module aong with their MPC, or know something about this. Roland manual does not tell me anything and it's really shyt.

Please help a brother out.

The sample Kings has a video on the Mpc 2000XL and they cover alot of ground I just got my hands on it. They take you through the 2000XL
step by step.

I don't have a problem using the MPC... I have a problem using the "multi-timbral" or "performance" function in my roland xv-2020 along with my MPC.

From what I can tell the XV 2020 isn't very different from the JV 1010 which I use to have a while back so if I remember correctly this is how it works:

Make sure it's in Performance mode and that midi channel 1 is selected> set track 1 on the MPC to midi device 1A> select a patch on the XV2020> record the sequence in the MPC> switch the XV2020 to midi channel 2> go to track 2 in the MPC and set it up for midi device 2A> record the sequence for track 2> rinse, lather , repeat.

I'm pretty sure there are a few cats who use the XV2020 around here that can correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.

Thanks man..
I figured it all out. You are exactly right for except that I need to press the value knob until the performance and the patch is selected together.
All this time I was doing it the manual way which is to press the value knob until only the performance light is lit.
Maybe it will work when working with computer based program, but it damn sure don't work with MPC that way.

Anyway.. thanks all for trying to help.
The XV-2020 sounds are beautiful, and I am lovin it. :D
