Midi Time Code with Pro Tools Digi 002.

Hi,
I have various tempo changes in my songs so instead of using Beat Clock I need to use MTC to track my songs.
I've set MTC up in my MPC 4000:
Midi Time Code
Midi 1
Frame Rate 30
Receive MMC Off
Midi Clock Off
Midi Time Code: Midi All
SMPTE Off
Send MMC Off

In Pro Tools I need my MPC to be the slave. When I press sync (which continues to flash) I press record and sure enough the MPC responds and goes along with Pro Tools. Only thing - nothing is recording!
I have my track set up, which I can hear when recording isn't enabled, everything is set, but when I press record PT does not record my track, only sync along for the ride.
What am I doing wrong?

Right so now I've been able to get Pro Tools to record - but the recording just stops 30 seconds or so into the recording for no reason!
