I work in a music store and we had a Rhodes Mark 7 on display for a month. Ill tell you this right now, from first hand experience:

There are ZERO emulations that can come close to that sound.

I find it depends on how you have it setup, I played a Mk2 Rhodes that was fed into a TL Audio pre-amp and the sound you got could be imitated very well by something like Loungelizard but if you have the real thing amped up on something like a Fender Twin Reverb and miced then damn, noting can match that! I hear the key action on the mk7 is a lot better than the old ones too

Man, that sound is just so awesome. I played a friends once and fell in love. I would love to get my hands on a Wurlitzer first, but the sound of the Rhodes is beautiful.

At my high school we had two vintage fender rhodes sitting in the band storage room and I asked my music theory teacher if I could purchase one from the school. After long negotiations with the administration they informed me that it was against school policy to sell me school property under any circumstance. Those beautiful machines are still sitting in that dark storage room collecting dust.
