what to know when replacing needles there a certain type of

What up y'all. A couple months ago I copped a cheap record player for sampling. I'm just getting into sampling vinyl. The turntable is the usb joint from Innovative Technologies. The hissing noise is getting worse and worse. I'm thinking the needle needs to be replaced. Is there a way to minimize the noise or does the needle need to be replaced? If so, what all do I need to consider when replacing a needle.
