cubase question???

How do i setup cubase to make it midi sync the mpc and then play the ASR-10 to record into cubase. when i try to multi track it into cubase it wont record when i have arm on. I have a audiophile 24/96 soundcard.

why don't you sync cubase with your mpc?
anyway, here we go: connect the midi out of the soundcard with midi in on the mpc and make it receive midi time code; connect midi out of mpc with midi in on the asr. then you have to connect the output of the asr (or your mixer) to audio in on the soundcard. double click on SYNC in cubase and set midi sync time code to 'delta ap' (or something).

I have the same soundcard and when I'm tracking my beats into cubase (using the mpc as master) the single tracks are not 'on point'!?

yea, this is how i got it hooked up. but the sound will not record.

go to vst inputs or something and enable the soundcard inputs.

Is this the first time you're trackin with cubase or do you just have problems recording your asr sounds?
can you hear the asr through your pc? (or see the signal on your input meter bridge?)
is your soundcard mixer set to something like 'monitor mixer'?

my first time using cubase. and shit seems to work fine in sound forge so im preetty sure i got everything hooked up right. it just wont record sound. so its gotta be some setting in cubaase and i cant figure it out...

You might need to add what cubase calls "vst inputs", it's under devices->vst connections.

hey digital, i did that and now the sound goes thru cuz i can see that it recorded into the track now. but now it wont play back out of my computer speakers. but i know it recorded to a track cuz i can see it. what is goin on.? thanx alot. peace

u have to set the soundcard mixer (in the task bar) to something like 'monitor mixer'. I guess your's is set to 'hardware input'....

do you record your whole beat to cubase or track by track?
if you do it track by track plz report if it's workin or not, cuz like I said I'm havin' problems with my soundcard....

i got another question... how do i save something into wav or mp3 once its in cubase... i cant figure it out. the only thing it saves as is a project...

hiit the file tab, go down to export... and a window will pop up with all your needs.

which one do i use cuz they all are files that wont save into something that i can use or play.... its only like omf and some other wierd files...

use wav or mp3, make sure you drag that little cursor all the way to the end of the song though before you export it or then an error is going to come up when you try it.
