Clavia Nord Keyboards ??

what yall think about these keyboards, so far im doing my research
and the Nord G2X looks REAL NICE ....

but what is the diff between the nord lead 3 and the nord lead 2x ?
would yall considered these to be the best synthesizers around ??

I have the Micromodular and it rocks....its very versitile and you can come up with original sounds with ease. Programing can be complex to simple depending on how you want to be using it.....automating it with a sequencer contains never ending possiblilities as basically everything is automatable and can be grouped to make crazy sweeps and such....I have been drooling over the G2. If you know anything about modular synthesis you will love it to death...even if you dont you will learn the ins and outs real quick. the manual is basically an encyclopedia on modular synthesis and is very usefull. I reccomend Nord products and you cant really go wrong with the G2. There are other options out there of course but you will get a good instrument with Nord.

What up with the alesis ion? I heard it bangs out the Nords.

I got the nord 2. It is tight, but take some programing before it comes to life. People say it sounds thin, but I am telling you it is all in the programming, and it can sound FAT. It has no effects, so it is hard to compair apples to apples with the presets. I think it smokes the ION, but hey its all opinions. The nord is good for some some rugged sounds, and lil weak for smooth sounding and soft pads. I think the 2x is going for like a G now, for that price you might want to peep the virus classic and see what you like better.

with the g2x u can change ur effects ( delays, effects) and u can use ur computer monitor see the changes , that is SICK

The nord lead 2x is an update of the nord lead 2, the nord lead 3 is a completely rewritten version of the nord lead.

I think the 3 sounds more analogue, plus the endless rotary encoders (instead of normal knobs) make it easier to call up a patch and tweak it.

The G2X is a new version of the Nord Modular, with a fullsize keyboard instead of the 2,5 octave (or something) that the G2 has.

The G2 is essentially a Modular synth with full programability. The G2 is programed by using the software via a MIDI connection. The key to the G2 lies in its software. This is the main difference I can see between the Lead and G2. The software allows you to build patches from scratch or use a presets(there are litterally 10000's online which you can download and tweak). You can litterally take a cable out of any module and patch it to another module. Kind of works like patching the back of the Reason rack if you've used it. If you really like programing your own original sounds and want somthing epically versitile the G2 is a great way to go. Can make so many different types of sounds and the processing options are hard to beat. Especially with that preamp on the G2. That is what I feel my micromodular is missing. And I also feel like anything Nord would probably sound better than the ION. just my opionion though but d@mn that Alesis Andromeda is ILL. hehe. Hope this helps you work it out. Do you have much experience or knowledge concerning modular synthesis? Do you own any other synths?

i got that novation ks4 , and that thing is some S***, im going to look at the g2x, the roland v syth and the acces virus Kc, then im going to make my decision ......man i might just get all 3 of them ........LOL jokin

Im not trying to switch the subject but have any of you checeked the ION demos on alesis.com, thing is ive been looking to buy a nord, virus, or ms2000 (had one a year ago - dont really want another) and had a couple of people (two to be exact) recommend the ION over them all. check the audio demos....impressive.

Dove, I mess with the ION every time I go to Guitar Center, this is the keyboard of my dreams. It's so easy to mess with, you can create sounds on the spot. When you turn a knob, the screen automatically goes to the menu for the parameters you are trying to adjust, like, "here, just do it now" type ish, and the sounds are real cool, different. I was able to make some fat basses in the store, without any previous ION experience the first time I tried it... I love that thing. I'd sell my children for one if I had any kids...

dog, this is gonna be my next synth, i just got back from GC..eyeah player.....im feeling it, would make a nice controller for my new Trtion Rack (yall heard it hear first)!!!

Yeah, that ION is hot, I felt like I was gonna break the keys when I was playin' it but it's definitely a fat soundin' VA synth.

i'll take the cut in key quality for that sound...didnt feel any worse than other of the cheaper va's.

I told you dove... the Toecutter might be grimy but he don't lie when it comes to the gear meng... If I landed this new job (I should find out sometime this week, supposedly monday...) I am gonna be getting one in a month or so... I was gonna use it to controk a korg tR rack when I get one unless I cop that motif rack...
