multitracker or digital recording studio?

Could somebody PLEASE tell me the difference between a Multitracker and Digital Recording Studio?i saw a digital recording studio on ebay for 500 bucks!!!(korgd1200) It looks like a multitracker it records 16 tracks but i am not sure if it is the samething as a multitrack? If it is not can i still use it to track beats??? thanx in advance

yeah so to speak its been all computer-based ish i made a little money, thought it was time to get the real thing i am all most done building just need the multitracker thats y i asked the ? thanxs for the feedback though i will read it holla
