The right soundcard

yo I'm looking for a good cheap soundcard with a phono input optimised for recording ish from the mpc - any ideas? and whats a good program to use for recording?

i have a soundblaster extigy. you could cop one for about a buck 25 new or even cheaper off ebay. zero distortion but the circuitry and the converters are not the best. im looking to upgrade myself. honestly, better off saving your dough for something dope so you dont have to upgrade later on

you get what you pay for!!! dont buy a cheap sound card and expect great things from it. a good sound card is the m-audio delts 1010lt, make an investent in your music.

yea man, actually for the change that you can get the m audio delta for, you probably wont find a better buy. 10 ins and outs and they go for around 300 bucks.

thats mean. i was looking into the echo gina 24. its dope however it only has 2 ins and outs and i plan on expanding to 8 outs to save time. they are similar in price range. the delta offers more outs. the gina is external which i like better.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

You don't need a phono input for recording the mpc. If you're using a pc, Go with Wavelab or Soundforge for recordingsoftware.

And i agree with the other men, save your money to buy a good card.

what about the soundblaster audigy 2zs platinum ? Im also lookin in to buying a card .

Stay away from the creative labs cards if your looking to record on a PRO level. The cards are good for gaming and learning the fundamentals of PC recording but after this in a year or two you WILL be looking to upgrade. Cards frommaudio (delta 1010 is thier high end modal), Ardvark ( Q10 is their high end card) and the new E-mu line of cards have impresed me. If your running a PIII or PIIII you should be fine, but if your running an AMD system make sure you do your research on the compatability of the card you want the the mother board chip sets on your PC. The delta 1010 and Q10 new will run you around 700.00 to 800.00. Used you can realy get a deal. If these prices are to high both makers have cards with less options but same quality.
