Wondering if anyone can recommend a USB mixer for Tracking my MPC to logic via the 8 outputs.

Been looking at the ALESIS MULTIMIX 8 USB but unsure if it will record 8 seperate channels in the computer (mac with logic 9) or just mix them all into a one mix.

I now started looking at the ALESIS MULTIMIX 8 USB 2.0 which i think does allow you to record seperate channels

does anyone have experience using these mixers and if anyone can recommend another mixer or alternative way of recording.

oh yeh forgot to mention i don;t want to spend over £200 if i can.

USB and Firewire mixers should generally be seen as AUDIO INTERFACES like any other, allowing you to record seperate tracks into an attached computer. If in doubt, check the manufacturers website or search online for reviews.

You should easily be ableto find an audio interface with 8 inputs for £200, you'll get a better quality if you opt for a used unit at the top end of your budget.

Lots of threads around here about audio interfaces, firewire may be preferable to USB if you can go that route.

Dont forget you can send 16 channels of midi to Logic (ie 16 virtual instruments) through a single midi cable negating the need for an 8 input audio interface altogether. Using this method its not such a drag to only have a single stereo audio interface.

See the WHOLE of this thread for how to...
