ITB switch to OTB

I use console at work, but have yet to make the switch at home...hopefully will have the mixer I'm going to set up at the house recapped soon so I can get it goin'... It's an Amek BC II. Tired of using a mouse!

Who here's made the switch to using a hardware mixer from mixing ITB? How did your creation process/final product change and how has it enhanced the use of your mpc?

not a nayer nutter, huh? I know some of ya'll are mixing via hardware! Oh well...

i'm planning on it, once i get the cash i might start looking into Allen & Heath's new ZED R-16 or possibly 24 (doubt i'll have enough tho).

either way, from what i know it seems like there are trade-offs either way. you have to do more recalling and its easier to make mistakes, but i think most people will agree that things tend to sound tighter once all is said and done.

i feel ya, i can't wait to ditch the mouse and digital EQ. as far as my MPC goes, i think the console will give me more routing options as well, making it easier to use my old Emax 12bit or any other sampler/effects units. Mostly i'm looking forward to the mix downs tho, time to get hands on listen instead of look, ya know?

Im kind of in-between in the hybrid setup. I have a decent analog front end going in, print in Logic and then mix thru a summing box with analog compressor and EQ stuck on the 2buss.
If the sound quality the main goal, a similar setup is very usable. The analog front end and summing can easily produce high quality mixes considering you have good converters and monitors.
