help me with synth+mpc1000+mixer setup

ayo,
i have a problem, i understood that synth/keyboard can play several sounds at the same time, like, guitar, sitar, piano, cello, violin... i mean when you have it with mpc, trough midi. but it only plays the sound selected at the time. if you change the sound, it plays the new sound you just selected. how can i make it play many different sounds at the same time? my synth is roland rs-50.
help me, if you know whats wrong

Well, uhm....You'll have to assign your patches to different midi channels on your synth, and use the mpc miditracks 1-16 to play them. Provided your synth is multitimbral, you can play up to 16 parts. Your synths manual would be a good start for this.
