mpc 1000 as a midi controller for reason, bpm

hey guys, ive seena lot of talk about using reason as a sound module for the mpc. but what about using the MPC as a midi controller for programs like reason, or motu bpm? im thinking of gettin a 1000 and hooking it up to my mbox 2 via midi to be able to do this. i know its possible but my real question is, is it possible to map all the pads to the appropriate ones in reason/bpm? also, do the transport controls work too? im not too familiar with setting up midi especially with the mpc, so any insight on this would be helpful.

another quick question...so if im using the MPC to control reason/bpm (connected via midi), can i also use my oxygen 8 keyboard (connected via usb) to control reason/bpm at the same time?

Yes you can set that all up to work as you describe, if you know what you're doing!

The MPC part is easy to set up, it's the midi settings in Reason that trip most newbies up.

cool thanks for that info. my main concern has to do with the different "presets" to control different programs. for example, when using an MPD26, you can have a preset set up to control reason, but you can also have different presets for motu bpm, cubase, logic, etc. is the MPC capable of storing presets like this as well? or would i have to manually change up the midi notes that are submitted depending on what program im trying to control?

In the MPD they basically do most of the work for you, hence why you see the differwnt presets for diff programs. in the MPC you must do all the work.

so heres my scenario. i want to control reason and motu bpm with the MPC1000's pads. right now, im using the MPD26, and i know that, for reason and bpm, the pads have different assignments. so when i switch between programs, i have to switch the presets on my MPD so each pad triggers the correct midi note for the corresponding program.

if im using the MPC 1000, does this mean taht everytime i switch between reason and BPM, i will have to manually go in the MPC and change the midi note assignments? is there a way i can use the "pad banks" a-d as makeshift 'presets'?
