Yeah it is my MPC. I had it for a long time it used to be computer gray. I had an artist paint that graphic on there it's all brushed work no sticker (this was back before anyone was doing that type of custom work to the MPC or offered those services)...and no this isn't a Tim Allen project it's professionally built its studio furniture. An earthquake wouldn't move my baby off of there. The stand doesn't rock or roll if you bump into it the only thing that will happen is that you'll be the one getting bruised. Wheels are generic you can add them to anything. I got this for me and I didn't want them (I like stuff stationary). It has pads on the bottom though. Sh*ts solid.

I've never been down for the quick lock stuff. They always loosen up and you have to readjust them. The bumpers/pads come off. Those little knobs start coming loose. Nah man not me I need Furniture! That's stuffs cool for the road but when I'm in my own studio I don't want to deal with all that. I just want to turn stuff on and play you know.

Cumbersome? Man it's just a stand you lay your machine on. It's about as complicated as a lawn chair and it's built to survive WW3 it's strong as hell. It can also handle a full size keyboad. I'm a musician and I've learned over the years that I need versatility in all of my tools... even the stands.

It doesn't appear to tilt nor swivel. Am I wrong? If not, when you say "versatility", what did you mean then?


Well the MPC is a holy piece of music equipment.


What I mean by "Versatility" is that it's strong enough to hold any other equipment I may need it for at the time. Keyboard, laptop, heavy mixer, MPC etc. that's why it's constructed the way it is. If your using a laptop stand, a mixer stand, or something like that those things only have one job they can do they're specifically designed for that piece of equipment. With this if I need to lay something else on it I can. I don't have to go out and buy another rack because my laptop stand flexes when I beat on the MPC.

but the reason I have it is I don't really like sitting down when I'm mixing but I'm tall so I also didn't like leaning over trying to punch in the pads and fumbling with the screen all the time. The elevated tilt brings it right to me. Sounds like it doesn't matter that much but trust me it is different.

I've also been thinking about getting some rack ears and and placing them on the bottom so I can hook up an effects or filter module. So I can tweak and beat on the pads. I guess for the guy with the full blown studio he probably already has everything he needs but for the basement producer that needs the space (like me) it's perfect dude.

Hey bro! This is amazing.. Im actually in the process right now of trying to find/make a stand for my Mpc 4000 - decided to check out the mpc forums and find your thread!

I am totally with you re: the quiklok type stands.. not a fan of them either..
I want my mpc on a table too.
I find that when i use the mpc, my neck/shoulders/back area gets all phucked up from bending over to look at the screen. And if your doing this for extended periods day after day - i know 100% im gonna injure myself permanently.. I dont want that man. seriously..
I'm a tall dude as well, and yeh basically i think a manufacturer has to come out and release one of these stands, but make it ADJUSTABLE/TILTABLE, and that way its more flexible.
In order for us to not get Repetetive Strain Injury (RSI) the stand NEEDS to elevate the screen (most looked area) so that it is "EYE- LEVEL", without having to bend your neck to see the screen better..

I really like your stand, but i have also found ANOTHER good idea which is very simple..

The ERGO WEDGE , which is basically one piece Laptop Stand made of foam, which you can use to put your MPC on as well.
You can get them to make a Custom size for you. Im going to send them an email soonish.. (Thinking of getting it 2-3 inches tall first (as a platform) before it starts to INCLINE upwards. That way it will be eye level , just like your stand is elevated abit.. But not TOO elevated.. im going to try and get the right measuremants for the best feel. )

Also, your probly thinking that its going to slip if theres an earthquake, so im planning on cutting out abit of the foam where the MPC feet/legs are so that they just sit into the foam and not let it from sliding down..
