What next?

kinda in two minds what to get next, this is my setup so far..

mpc
soundcraft epm6 mixer
djmixer
4track tape
technics tt
condensor mic, shock and windshield
casio keyboard
Midi keyboard


wanna give me some ideas on what would be some handy things to get next for this setup.. just the item will do, dont need brand names ill be testing and doing research before i buy anything. but im hitting up the shop tomorow and dont wanna impulse buy anything i dont really need.. drop me a list or somthing so i can clear things up in my head.. cheers yo.

a bunch of hand percussion - cowbells, woodblocks, tambourine/pandeiro etc? they're cheap and will work nicely with the condensor mic you have.

how about a moog moogerfooger pedal - maybe the lowpass or the bass murf?
they'll give you superb low end.

the moog murf is legit..id prob get a Multi fx rack unit instead though..

I can't see any monitors on that list, that would be an obvious start.

cant see much point in getting a preamp when i have one in my djmixer and soundcraft mixer.. i bought a second hand technics synth keyboard today for $80NZD (roughly $30 odd american dollars), the sounds on it are amazing... i didnt expect to pick up a synth keyboard that cheap, it came with a free sustain pedal so i had a play to see what it sounded like and was blowen away on how clean it was.. ill get alot of use out of it.

i might buy a firewire soundcard next...

i take it i dont need a million ins and outs because i can run it off my "record out" on my mixer knowledge please?

a dj mixer's pre and a quality pre amp are worlds apart....

I would make sure that no matter what i added next, it would be as simple as hooking up cables. If you want to map out your needs. Draw out a blue print of your studio. In the center of that blue print is the heart. That heart is the interface. So, firewire would be the obvious direction to go. How bout a control board? For $1200.00 you can get the digi command 8. You didnt mention you have a control surface. Then no need for motu, or the better Rme firewire. At least consider it.. i like em.. i use a C / 24... love it.

Right now my main one is an API A2D. That shit does amazing things to drums.
