Midi or real deal?

What do you guys think would be better - getting an acutal bass guitar for bass lines, or a synth that does bass sounds? Just wanna know what you guys think.

While a real bass will sound great a synth will give you many more options as far as sound design. You can always find samples of a real bass, go pick up a Stanley Clarke album.

depends on what you want to put out there, i take it from your question you don't already play the strings or you'd know the answer.

bass is easy to pick up and let's you express yourself much quicker IMO. there's a big price difference in the whole matter as well, but if you want to funk it there's nothing better than an 5 string fretted electric.
