hello all, i currently have an mpc1000 which i record from straight into my laptops input, which results in lame sound. been looking to get a usb audio interface but just dont know which.

on a budget of up to £160. i was looking at the cakewalk ua-25ex until someone said it was usb1.1 and i should get one with usb2.0.

does the mpc just go from the 2 outputs into the 2 inputs of a usb interface or just into 1 input? dont want to buy the wrong thing and be dissapointed / have to return it. searched the internet but there is alot to choose from.

another one iv been eyeing up is the tascam us122 mkII

any info about what soundcard to get and how the mpc connects etc would be great. i also have a turntable and mixer. guitar and bass. and an axiom 25 midi controller. i would like to have an option for each thing, not all at once though.

thanks in advance

for your budget i's suggest checking out the Focusrite Saffire 6 usb. i have it and its a great little interface for the price. it has 2 inputs TRS/XLR. the best thing about it is that it's preamps have almost no noise, unlike most interfaces in its price range.

I use it to record my mpc, turntable and guitar and i havent had any problems so far.
Its drivers for both pc and mac are really stable.

you cant multi track with usb 1.0...

USB 2.0, firewire, etc... those are your best bet if you want to record all your outputs at once and have separate files in the computer.
