I have some beats made from the Mpc to ADAT tape. Is is possible to dump ADAT tapes, 8 tracks, using optical to Pro Tools using the Digi 02? Im running Pro Tools LE 8 with Digi 02 interface. I have optical out from ADAT to optical in on the Digi 02. Ive set internal clock on ADAT to 44.1k. I hit the digital out button on the ADAT and have to 16 bit options. 16 bit and 16 bit DT. What do I choose? When I change the internal clock I can see it change on the Digi 02 lights. In Pro Tools 8 I set hardware source to Optical 16 bit. Now when I make a new track in Pro Tools what inputs do I select? When I hit record, I hear nothing. Ive gone through multiple settings.

I got it to work. I restarted everything and tried again. In Pro Tools 8, I went to hardware and set Clock source to optical and Adat. Connected lightpipe (optical cable) from Adat LX20 optical "OUT" to the DIGI 02 optical "IN". I set the Adat clock select to 44.1khz and it reflected this on DIGI 02 also. In Pro Tools 8 I created 8 mono tracks and selected ADAT 1-8 as inputs. Test my levels and was good to go. Amazed at how great these Adat Tapes still sound.

Yeah, I'm still holding on to an XT20 and a bunch of quantegy adat tapes. Haven't had a need to use it for some time, but if needed, I'll still have it to use.

BTW, how many head hrs. are you working with on that LX?

If I'm not mistaken, I do believe there's a timer that accumulates the total lifetime of the head hrs. and can't be reset.

But I do remember that once the deck reaches the first 200 hrs., it's recommended they get cleaned. This includes every 200 hrs. afterwards as well.

I think I'm just over 100 hrs. myself. I'm going to hook mine up at some point again, but I'll eventually need the use of my bigger mixer in order to make things work properly.
