Okay so the synthstation 49 is the dopeness... The RPM 3, meh (kinda a little bit cool to have a built in audio interface)... The guitar pedals, not for me but ok cool whatever... But that audio interface is butt ugly. And whoever approved the name needs to be taken out back and shot.

I have no idea what they are thinking on this one. It may be OK for a few people though, but it seems a bit like a niche product, a niche where most people wouldn't want this level/range of product. I guess I just don't see the market for it, yet. I'll have to learn more about it to see exactly who it's targeted at. Doesn't interests me though.

It doesn't even seem to compliment most of the MPC models.

I actually dnt think its bad, nothing eye candy but definately not their ugliest...those repackaged alesis monitors are sight cripplin imo

WTF? cant rack mount it, didn't read anything about pre-amps, then i clicked on the keystation 49 which is made solely to use to make beats on your ipod.....Numark/Akai are one of the major reasons all these "producers" are poppin up selling beats for 20 bucks on random websites, without knowing how to eq, read a manual, spend hours days and years of no sleep grinding, and think old school hip hop was there first Master P record there mom bought them censored from walmart.

Ever since numark bought Akai, its been steadily going downhill, and converting its stuff to numark's level of low grade plasticware.

With the VU meters and toggle switches, it looks like they're going after the vintage market. I wonder what USB version they're using (I wouldn't put it past Nukai to release a USB 1.1 interface). The name sounds like something out of a Philip K. Dick novel

I was expecting something a lot worse when I clicked the link. Not for me though.

a four-channel recorder, easily accessible combo jacks on all inputs, 4 channel 1/4" out, 'insert' channels, and bouncy old-style vu-meters... seems like a pretty good idea for someone with a couple pieces of outboard gear and no audio interface. It's nice that there is something in between the too-few-input 2 channel devices and the maybe-overkill 10 channel ones.

4 tracks is a nice number to work with.

not to mention it's a usb hub too. now that is a welcome addition that I haven't seen on too many other usb interfaces.

Doesn't look like a bad product at all, as somone mentioned, nice amount inputs for someone just starting out. Gives them a little bit of room for expansion without spending a fortune. Aesthetically I think it's pretty good too, although hardly practical for the rack-mount-massive.

I'm more interested in hearing the Delay Pedal. Although I'd rather save longer and invest in some MoogerFoogers.

Considering Akai's top selling product of all time carries 8 outs, the four seems pointless, and poorly thought of from a marketing stand point, Hey buy our 2500 or 5000, but NOT this EIE cause it only has 4 inputs, thus instantly cutting half your customers off who are already proven to make purchases with your company.

fvck that... if you want a USB interface with 4 ins, 4 outs, and MIDI IN/OUT & an even smaller footprint... save yourself the money and just buy a used M-Audio QUATTRO on ebay for thirty or forty bucks...
