hey guys, i have searched and searched (literally spent hours and hours) over sites and forums about getting my mpc 4000 set up as the master and logic 8 as the slave. i have read different comments people saying midi clock has been disabled in 8 and 9 so it isn't possible anymore.

does anyone here successfully have there set up running with an mpc as master and logic 8 or 9 as the slave so when you hit play on the mpc it plays logic in sync.

i set up the mpc as slave and logic as the master but i use my mpc as he centre of my production of sequencing and sampling and use logic as a sound module, the reason why i want this so bad to be set up is because i use effectrix and sound toys on some channels on logic but when i use effects like the filter mode up or down in sound toys the sync of sound toys is out of sync with the timing of the mpc when i hit play, the bpm is locked in but its just the timing that is off.

if anyone could help it would be unbelievably appreciated, i would be happy to donate $ or drums, samples etc etc

i have seen the link on akaipro.com with how to the slave the mpc to logic and i got that working well but thats not what i am after.

Thanks in advance..

If you're experiencing a delay in the sounds coming from logic, maybe take a look at your soundcard buffer settings.

If they're set too high, that will cause the delay you're hearing. The lower the buffer setting, the less delay you'll hear.

But on the flip side, you'll make your daw work that much harder unless that's not an issue with your system.

It's none of my business but why are you locked in on this one sync scenario? :?

Have you tried it the other way around? I exclusively slave my 4k to Nuendo and get what I need done without any problems or hassles.

Without going into detail, this has been stated on this very forum hundreds of times.

Logic Pro 7 will slave to an MPC using midi clock.

Logic Studio 8 will not slave to an MPC using midi clock.

Logic Studio 9 will not slave to an MPC using midi clock.

You may have some degree of success making Logic the slave if you opt to use midi timecode instead.

You can donate by buying samples or e-books from this site.
