I've got an MPC60II with MPC3000 OS installed.
I am changing my studio set up so that I have my MPC60IIs four MIDI outs going to a MOTU MIDI Timepiece AV.
I'm probably going to switch to Digital Performer because it's got easier features for recording multiple MIDI controllers/keyboards. You can select the MIDI in port on each track. Cool.

What use could I get from MMC?
Could I start the DAW from my MPC and control transport functions?
What other uses are there for MMC?

I use to use my adat 8 track mdm recorder as one of my main recorders some years ago. I then wanted to control it from my daw.

So I figured I needed some kind of way of controlling this and found out I needed an interface to manipulate its transport.

I also purchased a mtp a/v and connected the adat sync to the mdm, setup the appropriate mmc settings in the daw s/w, and would start and stop the mdm from the daw.

That sh!t was cool as h*ll. The mdm would chase or follow where ever the daw transport was, so I never hand to touch the recorder at all.

Don't know what real advantages you'll get by using it with the mpc since midi time code or clock pretty much serves an identical purpose imo.
